So when did wife Mary (ne Smith) Crutchley get buried ? There is a burial of Mary Crutchley, widow, poor, at Sharnbrook on 4 Mar 1776  but haven't found a prior burial of Henry; plus there's a baptism of daughter Mary in 1778. So perhaps that is not her.

Could this Mary Crutchley that died in 1776 not be Henry's mother?
There is the Henry and Mary Crutchley that have Jane and Robert in 1718 and 1724, if my Henry was Jane and Robert's (older?) sibling and they all lived in Sharnbrook, it would be more than logical for their mother to have died there.
If Henry was the first child and, say, born around 1715, Mary could have been born around 1690, making her about 85 at the death in 1776.
I have no proof for this theory as yet, but it seems it is a possibility. Would you have any idea what the earliest surviving baptism for Sharnbrook is?

Use the link I provided before (on your other topic) , changing 16 to 24 to get the parish register transcript up to 1812 volume 24 for Sharnbrook & Bletsoe.

Good luck

Hah, that's a nifty trick! Thanks for the tip!

(by the way, I've left you a question in another topic too, from long ago, about John Foot...
