coroners inquest on death certificate
« on: Wednesday 23 August 17 20:08 BST (UK) »
Hi I have just received a death certificate which says a coroners inquest was held.  I have looked in newspaper archive but have found nothing.  Where do I look next for further information? Thanks.

Durham archives might have the Coroner's file but survival of these is very variable.

What was the cause of death and the year of death?

Inquests are held for a number of reasons and if the cause of death wasn't suspicious it may not have been reported

Unlikely to have been "newsworthy"

True - would there be any records anywhere regarding the inquest?
