I've found a relative's naturalization application and on it, he listed his various addresses over the years. Two of the pre-1911 addresses are known to me, as they are the addresses of two of his cousins. The other address isn't known to me, and I am hoping that it may belong to another cousin.

Is there a way to figure out who was living at 210 Main Street, Glasgow in 1909 and 1910?

I am not sure how to search the 1911 census by address. Is it possible?

That said, I suspect that the residents may have been different. My family only lived in Glasgow for a short time and left for the US in waves starting in 1909. I am guessing that this relative kept moving in with different cousins as the ones he lived with left the country.

I don't have Scottish roots so don't use Scotlands people but this appears to suggest there are ways you can get the reference for streets.

Other census are available to search by street on FindMyPast

You can do a free search of the Valuation Rolls of 1905 on scotlandspeople.gov.uk, which will help identify residents in the property or nearby.

The Post Office Directories of Glasgow are also online here http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/archive/91168983

Specifically, Main Street in 1908/09 is here http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/archive/86452618

I have the 1909 street directory for Glasgow.  In it, there are "Main Streets" in  Bridgeton, Calton, Gorbals, Govan and Maryhill !

Bridgeton: 210 Main St : MAHON, R

Calton, Gorbals, Govan - no entry for 210, this doen't mean no-one lived there, just no name recorded (that is, if 210 existed).

Maryhill: 210 Main St: MCLEOD, W

Any help ?
NEILSON - Erskine/Bishopton, Renfrewshire and Glasgow
BROWN - Hamilton, Lanarkshire
CAIRNS - Hamilton, Lanarkshire
FINDLAY - Kirriemuir area, Forfarshire/Angus
PORTER - Tobermore, Derry, Ireland

It would almost certainly be the Main Street in the Gorbals, as that's where everyone else in the family lived, and he would be in a Jewish household. However, I think there's also a good chance that the house number given is not correct, as he was applying for naturalization 30 years later. The other addresses he listed are very close, but not the exact house numbers.

I checked the post office directory for other addresses I know, but couldn't find my family members at those addresses even though I have the census record of them being there. So I guess not everyone was in the postal directory.

What family names are you researching in that area?
