I've done a tree for my drinking buddy - he's a Burns ;D

Burns in the tree were born Isle of Man, Liverpool, Manchester (1820s and 1830s).
Earliest I have found is David Burns, b1808, Ireland.

There the trail runs cold.

Any reason why you have asked your question on the Warwick board - try on a general one?

From Mr Google!

Burns Family History. Scottish and northern English: topographic name for someone who lived by a stream or streams, from the Middle English nominative plural or genitive singular of burn (see Bourne). Scottish: variant of Burnhouse, habitational name from a place named with burn 'stream' + house 'house'.
