There is a Timothy 'Tossney' born abt 1824 who died in 1886 in Liverpool on the Civil Registration Index.
According to Liverpool Burials he died in the Workhouse and was buried in Walton Park Cemetery.

In 1851 there is a 22 year old Timothy 'Tossey' - aged 22 (hence born abt 1829) -- a Dock Labourer, living with parents John and Bridget 'Tossey' and a brother John (and some Lodgers) -- all living in Liverpool but born Ireland.

In my experience of the ages of Irish people (and I am allowed to say this because my husband is Irish as was my paternal grandmother!!) - their ages can vary from record to record. It can be a real pain.

Looking in Ireland for Tosneys --- it seems that there are not that many -- there are far more Torsneys and Tarsneys. I don't know if this might prove to be relevant if the surname has 'morphed' into Tosney.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
