I'm pretty sure that's the one, according to the 1901 census it was around then when they would of married, it says his wife was Annie (Hannah?). I have his bible which says William John in it.

Hi,

Yes, they are related. They moved and settled in Bedminster, Bristol. Still no thread for the traveller/Romany connection though 😕

The only other possible connection could be the William Sellars b. 1904 who married KAte Mabel Bennett, her F was Isaac Bennett b. 1880 who M Jane Thompson. On the 1911 census there are some 'different names' such as Rosina and Elvina? Just a thought, apparently there is a woman who looked like a red Indian?!

;D Hiawatha definitely looked like a Red Indian!

Whos son was the William b 1904 as I can see a Mable Kate Bennett aged 7 with parents Isaac & Jane Bennett and included in household an Elvina Thompson 19, Isaac was a Briclayers Lab?

😀😀 it was Elvina Thompson apparently which is where the rumour possibly came from originally, Jane Thompson's sister who was my GG Gran.

William Sellars b.1904/5 married Mabel Kate Bennett. Williams father was William Sellars b.1881 (married Charlotte Spear).

I have found on one of the census of the Thompsons that they were Last makers... I wonder if that's a Romany craft?
