At Trincomalee in Ceylon was Navy House, the headquarters of the Commander in Chief East Indies Station of the Royal Navy (called the Eastern Fleeet after 1942).  This was the Admiralty of the Far East if you will.  As well as RN personnel, there would have been a whole tribe of civilian support staff there. The manifest looks like the return home after the war of many of those staff.

So a civilian employee of the Admiralty stationed in Ceylon.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

This is the uniform ( If its classed as uniform ? ) they are wearing. They were working with Admiralty /  Government supervsing the dockers laoding the ships with coal and fuel in Colombo , Ceylon in 1946.
