Tom Farrar, 1848, Bradford

Tom married Mary Thompson (1846, Bradford) on 25 December 1871 at St Peter (Bradford Cathedral). He died in 1877.

From the GRO web-site it is possible that they had three children, all registered in Bradford. Thompson (1873), Alfred (1875) and Emily (1877).

I can find no trace of Mary or the three children.

Any help and pointers much appreciated.

Have you checked for a re-marriage for Mary? she might have remarried before the 1881 census.

That's solve Thompson, Rosie. Thanks. (Must remember to use the "Sounds Like" on GRO!!)

I can't find an obvious remarriage for Mary.

Later: there is a marriage for a Mary FarrEr in 1880 (spelling again Michael).  Married Edward Foster. (Fibbed about her age, but looks like the correct one.)

Later, Later: can't find them in 1881, but they seem to be there in 1891. Edward was born in 1854 in Sawley, Lincolnshire. Appears to be no children. (Mary's getting younger!)

I came across the 1881 census just as I was logging off!

Obviously no children recorded. Still can't figure out what happened to the two surviving siblings.

There is this possible death for Emily - but, if so, need to find her on 1881.

 Emily Farrar age  11    Bradford

but there are other births for Emily Farrar in Bradford to account for that death.
