Help needed (concerning marriage certificiates)
« on: Tuesday 29 August 17 13:19 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
I know that my great-great-grandparents Charles and Ethel (née Rhodes) Wright married in 1911 in Bradford, Yorkshire.
Would their marriage certificate tell me where they were born or just their ages at marriage like I presume? I know when and where Ethel was born but Charles had no middle name and Charles Wright is likely to be a common name.

Thanks,
Becki :)

If you have access to Ancestry or FindMyPast, he can be found with his parents on censuses up to his marriage.

Hello and welcome from me too  :).

The original images of both marriage records transcribed above can be seen at Ancestry. If you don't have a sub, check whether your public library subscribes to the library edition. These images are of original parish records and have the actual signatures of the parties.

Thank you all. I had Ethel's father down as James Fletcher Rhodes so I have to delete everybody above her on my family tree. Her father being Tom would explain why my great-granddad was called Tom rather than Thomas.
