I did Bumblebee, she was a Windley in 1939. Not a Masters until 1962 !

True, but you have to remember that the 1939 entries were updated until 1990's and took note of surname changes on re-marriage!  And there is the third surname of McKeen noted.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

I don't have a subscription to Ancestry. I live in the Netherlands, that's a problem too.

I have heard the name Harold Street in Dover before, so I'm pretty sure that that is one of the addresses my nan lived at in Dover (E stands for Edward).

ok I have found her in the 1939 register under the name Masters, Windley. Can anyone provide me with all the details of the houshold ?

Phone books probably not a useful route to go down as there does nt seem much more info, BMD certificates would give addresses at the time of course but costly I guess.
