Have you tried to find a baptism in Paris records?

Yes that was Col Francis Mountjoy Martyn, and no, I'm not au fait with French records.  My thoughts are that when her mother was pregnant, she was sent to Paris to stay with the Countess of Beauregard who was another of the colonel's former mistresses.  By then the countess had moved up in the world and was now the mistress of Napoleon III

You could post a query looking for the baptism on the Europe board. There will be people there familiar with French records.
