Does the addresses  1 CLYDE Street  or 12 STOWANS road in Dumbarton mean anything to you?

Wondering if they could be Williamina's address? Or other of your known family?

Cheers

Have just sent you another PM.

The SUTHERLAND of the Obituary (earlier reply) has a son-in-law on social media, who has a  male SUTHERLAND friend who is either Native American or associated with Native American.

That might be the connection you were told about?

Not posting names here (privacy living individuals).

Good Luck! I hope it's a match = fingers crossed.

If it is a match, very exciting, as the daughter then, may still be living.

Yes!

It is a match, surely ! Just discovered the man in the Obit, died 2015 - his  father was named Andy.....

Will PM you.

Regards your grandmother Williamina  travelling to Canada regularly.... she was born 1906, married 1926 to LOW and I presume stayed married & together with her husband?  Her brother Andrew appears to have married 1931 in Scotland and possibly didn't go Canada until  at least after 1943 - if we're on the right track,  a son was born in Dumbarton that year.

Many of the Williamina Sutherland trips to and fro Canada are in the 1930's or earlier - many of them can definitely be traced to the two women I mentioned earlier, Williamina Greig  SUTHERLAND and Williamina Gunn SUTHERLAND. In the 20 year period  of 10 years either side of 1953, when Andrew is (likely) now in Canada  - the I only see  one of those two: Williamina Gunn Sutherland  of Wick (married woman, born 12 March 1907).

In short, unfortunately  I don't think it is your Williamina that you've see in Passenger list indexes?

Cheers

SUTHERLAND ANDREW CRAWFORD + MCKINLAY AGNES THOMSON Married 1931 Dumbarton
Like his father and his brother he worked at the Tube Works.  Send me a PM with your email and I will send the registration.

And here are the only two births of a Sutherland in Dumbarton 1931-1940 I am thinking at least one is yours.

SUTHERLAND M 1930's
SUTHERLAND JOHN PATERSON

There is no death of Andrew/Agnes in Scotland.

That being said since he worked at the Tube Woks (Babcock & Wilcox) perhaps he took a job at their large plant located in Galt (now Cambridge) Ontario.  But this is just a guess on my part.

Don

I have turned off all email notifications, thank you.
