Yes, that's the one. Married to Elizabeth Birchall.

I'm just gathering some research for my father. John is the son of Thomas Partington born 1795 who was the brother of William, our ancestor. William married Margaret Birchall

I've managed to find stories most members of the family who went to Utah but John.

I did find the grave thanks and I remember years ago seeing a piece of that story on the old IGI site. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for though, thanks for the links.

I tried to find the book but can only find it in America or in a set of 6. I'm sure I remember seeing that there were photos in there along with details of the person, perhaps that's where the story comes from.

If you look at familysearch.org--search--books

type in the name of the book and it should appear, however, most won't have authorization to view the book.  The following pops up:

You do not have sufficient rights to view the requested object
Only a limited number of users can view this object at the same time, and viewers must be in the Family History Library, a partner library, or a Family History Center. If you are in one of these locations and are receiving this message, the user limit has been exceeded. Please try again later.

If you are near a Family History Library, etc, maybe you can view it there.
