Rev William Hamilton 1755-1797
« on: Sunday 03 September 17 07:39 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Looking to make a connection with Rev William Hamilton 1755 - 1797 a CoI minister born in Londonderry in 1755, murdered in Co Donegal 1797. There's alot written about him on the internet except a family line of his children. His wife was Sarah Walker and I would like to link them with Mary Jane Hamilton who married Alexander Spence in 1849. Her father was William Hamilton hopefully a son of the Rev. Does anyone have a tree or sound knowledge on his line.

Hi, Yes he did have a son, William Hamilton MD. William was born in abt 1783 and died on 24 May 1856 in Plymouth, Devon, England. I have a copy of his death notice from a Belfast Newspaper.
I am a descendant of William's brother, Rev John Vesey Hamilton who was also born in Ireland but settled in Little Chart in Kent.
I am wondering if you might have any information about Rev William Hamilton's father? I know that his name was John Hamilton and a merchant but I cant find any further information about him.
