African Dagger? 1940s?
« on: Sunday 03 September 17 13:49 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Currently clearing my Grandparents house and found this. It probably belonged to my granddad who spent time in North Africa in the War. Any experts out there? I believe then handle might be "Soapstone" but know nothing else. Any tips on cleaning etc?

Thanks

Soapstone is found internationally. In Africa from Egypt to South Africa. Have a piece from Rhodesia where the locals would eke out a living carving it. My guess yours is from Egypt.

NEVER CLEAN AN ANTIQUE. Leave it as it is.
