Christina Tobin born in Ireland December 29th 1889 her father James Tobin

Trying to trace my ancestry but it it proving very difficult. All I have is my grandmothers name (from her death certificate and her Dad's name on her marriage certificate (which was James Tobin - Railway Head Porter). Any help greatly appreciated. My roots are out there somewhere. I just have no idea as to where.

Thank you for your welcome and advice.

I come from a seriously broken family. So I didn't even know my Mum or Dad's names etc. We all went in to care at a very young age (five children and I was the youngest). So I basically have no one to ask (as I guess you would in a normal family situation).

All I have is what is on her death cert and marriage cert.

Death cert says she was born on 29th December 1889
Marriage cert states her father was James Tobin a Railway porter.

When she got married to John Henry Malham (in Brentford Middlesex) on 27th June 1946. She was 56 years old. So my Dad was basically illegitimate as there is no Fathers name on his birth cert. But in just reviewing. I see that she put her name down as Cristina

Christine appears to have been living with John H Malham in Ealing in 1939, using his surname.

Seems it might have been quite a long relationship as Christine/Christina and John H Malham are on the electoral rolls from at least 1931.

The birth is Christina and the date 30th December 1889 which is such a close match. Father is James but a labourer.
I can't find then in 1991/11 though

There is a 10 year old Christina born Cork living with the Mcgee family in Kilkenny, Mrs Mcgee, Catherine maiden name is Tobin.

James Tobin and Mary Leary, Thomastown - the names fit with that birth of Christina.
