Yellow Lane, Drumcondra

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone can help me with pin pointing where Yellow Lane, Drumcondra used to be?

I cannot seem to find it on any current maps and a lot of the old ones don't give enough to see where it may have been. My thoughts are that it may have been located off Yellow Road, Drumcondra but I haven't got anything to back that up...

If anyone could offer any further info that would be much appreciated.

I wonder if there is two Yellow Lane's
most of the records here

There's a lengthy report in the Dublin Daily Express, 19 Dec 1913, about the proposed development of that area to create "... a garden suburb for the better class of artisans ..."

"a substantial area fronting to the east side of the Drumcondra Road, between the Thatch (a licensed premises) and a point a little north of the junction of that road with Church Lane ..."

"... a depth of 1, 260 feet along Yellow Lane ..."

Ah brilliant thanks so much, I was hoping this was were it was going to be. We had baptisms in High Park and at Goose Green which were all around this area.

From the OSI Maps, Yellow Lane was slightly north of the present day Collins Avenue. There is a modern 'Yellow Road' which runs over part of the original Yellow Lane.

Note that you can use the tools panel on the OSI map site to overlay, for example, the modern road map on a historical map - very useful. There is a slider tool which allows you to reduce the intensity of the top map so you can check how the layout of the old and modern roads corresponded.
