You'd have to assume they have reason to say that so it looks like there is a good bit of untangling to do between the Cork Patrick and the Cork/Dublin Patrick.
Good Luck with that :D

Hopefully the 2nd Lieutenant for Land Forces 8th March 1919 can lead to something, perhaps the people on the Armed Forces borard could help with that.

If they have family history or some other reason to know of Kildorrery I would then imagine that the army record found is incorrect as this definite relates to the Fermoy family that moved to Dublin.

I agree with Sinann that the army boards maybe able to help with the specific information from 1919 noting  that this was then after the war meaning his records may not be online if he remained in the army for a while.

If he was promoted to the position of 2nd Lieut. it maybe listed in the London Gazette
Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan
Toole, Doran; Dowling, Grogan/ Reilly, Burke; Warren, Kidd [Lawless]/ Smith, Scally; Mangan, Rodgers/ Fahy, Calday; Staunton, Miller
Further generations:
Brophy Coleman Eathorn(e) Fahy Fitzpatrick Geraghty Haverty Keane Keogh Nowlan Rowe Walder

Hi there,

I believe Patrick was son to Margaret O’Brien and James Roche in Kildorrery. My great grandmother was Honoria Maria Roche who was Patrick Roche’s sister. St. Bartholomews church in Kildorrery has 8 recorded of Margaret & James children baptised.

My great grandmother Honoria moved to South Africa with her husband Alfred Osburn
