Changing the date on a JPG file: Windows 10
« on: Monday 04 September 17 18:50 BST (UK) »
I have a couple of photos imported from a digital camera.  Sadly the camera had the date wrong, and the date on the images appears as 04/09/2049.  I have tried changing the image (resizing, changing the colour etc), but the date remains the same.  It's inconvenient because it always comes out top when I sort the folder by descending date.  Is there some way to change the date.  I realise the implications of this (security, blah, blah).

Right click on the image and select properties. Then click on the Details Tab. Click on the Date part where you can change the date. If there is a date stamp on the actual image, you will have to use a photo editing program to remove it. You can rename the photo by right clicking on it and select Rename.

Thanks for responding, Midase.

I'm not sure how I should be viewing the image when I right-click.

I right-clicked on the image when I was looking at it with Picasa, and it SORT-OF works, but the date still appears as 2049 when I look at the folder in IE

You can't do it in Picasa. Picasa does not store all your photos, it is merely a shortcut to your photo library. You can locate the photo in your Photo Library or right click on the photo in Picasa and select Locate on Disc and this will take you directly to the photo you are seeking. Picasa will then be updated accordingly.
