Been able to confirm the Stanley family to William - seems like an interesting family in terms of occupations - ribbon manufacturer, to publican to butcher.

After your reference to the ribbon manufacturers I found this reference which I think is the same person..

iluleah was absolutely right about proving connections and I was about to suggest buying a birth certificate but searched for the Thorp possible connection first

In luck again, there is a marriage for Francis Thorp to Mary Stanley
