Thank you so so much I kind of got carried away today on the other side of the family and I spent a few hours working out what line was mine but Blimey so so easy they were Norwegian and the records are marticlous and free I've went back to 1780 on that line with every birth death marriage emigration with full darkest locations the lot all free all on one record wish my whole family were Norwegian !

You need to confirm from John and Catherine's death certs their parents' names to be able to work through with confidence.

The dates on the census don't match the dates of birth for the Catherine Craig on her wedding or birth records so gutted

Not sure what you mean on this. Can you explain why you think that Catherine Craig is not the correct wife for John Kenneway?

Have you managed to check key documents now from SP? Either of the marriages for John b. 1893 will let you confirm his parents' names.

She is Catherine and she is Catherine Craig

But I have just found the correct Catherine Craig her mother is Sarah cairns Craig and father is John craig,

Amazingly there is another Catherine craig with a father John craig who married another John Kenneway in Ireland only a few years of a difference bloody confusing !

Can be easy enough to go off your line when researching. That is why it is vital to check at least some key documents.

Have you looked at John's b. 1893 (your direct line) birth cert? It will show his parents' date and place of marriage.

If as you say, there are two couples with the same name/time frame, you need to be able to verify which are the correct parents for John b. 1893. His birth cert will help you in this respect.
