Thomas Etches

I'm trying to discover more about the death of one of my ancestors. His name was Thomas Etches and he was buried at St. Philip's Cathedral, Birmingham on the 6th November 1836. aged 35.  At the time he was living at Lady Well Walk, Birmingham and worked as a stonemason. I don't think that death certificates were issued until after 1836 but as he was a stonemason I'm wondering whether he belonged to a local guild or trade association and whether they would hold details. Can anyone help me please?

It may be worth looking through the lists on her and sending Kerry a PM.
