Stolen medals. Bechuanaland, Anglo boer war. German SWA and WW1 medals
« on: Friday 08 September 17 07:52 BST (UK) »
Moderator, I hope this post is acceptable under this heading.
In late June this year my grandfather's medals were stolen from a house near Cape Town, South Africa.
Because of their sentimental value we would like to recover them and return them to the family member who had them originally.
The medals are:
Bechuanaland Campaign (Medal and clasp)
Anglo-Boer war 1899-1902. (Queens medal 2 clasps)
                                         (Kings medal and 2 clasps)
German South West Africa campaign 1914 -15
He also had the British Victory medal and Star awarded as he also served in the UK forces during the last years of the war.
If there is any name on the medals it would be W.M.Stewart.
I am assuming they would have been offered to a shop dealing in war memorabilia who would have bought them in good faith.
Should anyone see these medals I would be very grateful if they would let me know.

How sad, I wish you luck in recovering them.

AntonP - I suggest you go to 'Modify' in your post [top right] and include in the post header the name on the medals.
