Its a bit vague, but all I've got, Fred moved to Canada about 1905 and his wife Alice Taylor nee Tidmarsh was with her father 1911c Samuel Tidmarsh sr (br Balsall Warwickshire 1844) with her daughter Ruth Agnas Taylor. Alice and daughter Ruth, they sailed of Canada to join Fred Taylor June 1911 onboard the Laurentic

Fred's death info gives some info. (In image)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Although Alice and Ruth are with Samuel Tidmarsh in 1911 , as you mentioned , they also appear on the 1911 Canada census :

http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/1911/pdf/e002022234.pdf

line 39 , I think , towards the bottom anyway.

Thanks Christine53 & cosmic for your time and very interesting info you've both found (A lot to take in bearing in mind I knew nothing of this family in Canada till a few days ago, All I knew was that my mums uncle Sam had been to visit Canada from about 1907 to 1910 but knew little else as mum wasn't even born then.)

Its also interesting how much detail the Canadians give in death certificates, censuses and obituaries compared to UK sparse official doc info is and even newspaper deaths, obits and memorials are only basic :(

Thanks again.

Hi Dobby,

I live west of Kakabeka Falls and pass through the town periodically on my travels to Thunder Bay. Do you know if any of there descendants still live in the town or are buried there? If so I may be able to help.

Thanks JDC,

I've a lot more researching to do on ancestors, but not going to be prying into living peoples lives

I know as much as you do really from info in this thread, mainly from the James obituary in link above found by member cosmic, obit saying his family were from Conmee.

My memories of my Gt Aunty (Sam's wife [10 years younger than him ] who visited Canada 1907 to 1911 but he died 1934) who died in 1979 but knew her mostly in the 1950/60's as a kid then lost contact.

It just something to post in the tree of ancestors only for future generation of my knowledge of my family history or what I find researching it  !! not interest in contacting cousins far removed as I don't bother that much with relo's I know  ;D as usually end up opening a can of their domestic bliss of  troubles & strife of said known relo's :o - but thanks for your kind offer. Its a long way back 1900 +/- 20 years for most living descends and its only seems  near to me as my actual granddad was born 1867 married aged 34 1901 (I used to sit on his knee as a kid before he died age 90 in 1957), he had mum age 41, mum had me aged 42 and I've been around heading towards 3/4 of a century  :(.
