I don't know why you worrying about the Prescot birth  :-\ .   :)
It is registered in the Dec qtr 1840.
Census was taken 6th June 1841.  The Prescot William who appears on census to be with a single woman is 7 months which would tie in with that registration.

The baptism that I found earlier gave mother as Ann not Mary and was in Liverpool.

You agree then that the Prescot William is NOT the one we are looking for, as son of Daniel Birmingham?
