1841 Census Thomas Smith
« on: Saturday 09 September 17 21:19 BST (UK) »
I am looking for this family in 1841

Thomas Smith, joiner, born 1796 Tanfield
Mary Smith, born 1795 Stamfordham, Northumberland
Thomas Smith, born 1827 Tanfield (probably an apprentice joiner in 1841)

In 1851 and 1861 they are living in Burnopfield, Tanfield. In 1839 they are recorded living at Bryans Leap (Burnopfield) so I would expect them to be there in 1841 too but cannot find them.

The Thomas and Mary at Houghton Le Spring is not them in my view (wrong occupation and wife born in wrong county).

Grateful for any help. Thank you.
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

That looks very promising. may I ask where you found them as they don't appear to be coming up on Ancestry
