I think you may have seen it, as you mentioned a stamp collecting site you had seen on google.

Hi,

Brother John Basil's WW2 complete service file is free to view through Ancestry, no sub required.

He was top of his flight school class, an article in the Lethbridge Herald dated June 5, 1942.

More thanks!  I knew about the brother and his fate when lost on a flying mission, but not about his successful graduation.
