Thomas's death is registered April Quarter 1873 so Nancy had the children baptised in case she needed Parish relief???
Would baptism have made any difference to obtaining Poor Relief? It wasn't administered through the church parish. The widowed mother may have hoped to receive extra charity through the church if the family members were parishioners.
