Don't think so, the farm was on a short tenancy and the newspaper did mention an interment some distance away from her home.

Solved at last!

Not only Isabella SHIELLS but also her husband Andrew SHIELLS were buried at St Nicholas cemetery in Fenham, Newcastle. He was buried in 1884, she in 1901 in the unconsecrated section by a Presbyterian minister.

After RTLass and I had both spent hours, with no success, going over the films, I finally asked one of the TWAS volunteers/mentors to have a look for me. He's spent years looking at TWAS films so knows all their idiosyncrasies. And he found both!

I'd suspected for ages that these folks were non-Conformists, even though they'd been married in 1876 in her C of E  parish church. He was from Scotland and I'd not been able to find C of E baptisms for their children, good clues pointing to their religion. But it was unrecorded anywhere until their burials. Their eldest son was buried at his local C of E church in 1936 so the family group wasn't consistent in their Presbyterianism.

So it pays not to give up, I got there in the end.
