Just to clarify - the marriage on 27 November 1862 at Riccall was between George THOMPSON, father Matthew, and Ann Burton, father is George, a Labourer.  One of the witnesses was Jane Burton (x).

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

30 December 1837 - Riccall - by Banns
George Burton, full age, bachelor, Farmer of Skipwith.  Father:  Thomas, Farmer
Jane Hare, minor, spinster of Riccall.  Father:  George, Blacksmith
Witnesses:  John Burton, George Hare, Mary Silversides, Mary Stead and John Newsham (possibly a church official as he is witness to other marriages)

Baptism - Skipwith
Ann, daughter of George (Farmer) and Jane Burton of Skipwith.  Born 18 July, baptised 15 August 1838.

Mary, daughter of George and Jane Burton of Skipwith.  Born 23 July, baptised 16 August 1840.  The vicar has made a bit of a mess with this entry  :o - he had given Mary completely different parent forenames (crossed out), and there are two occupations, one of them smudged  ;D  Farmer and Blacksmith (the smudged entry).
