Thomas Ellis baptism Masbrough area
« on: Friday 15 September 17 16:55 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to locate a birth/baptism for Thomas Ellis in around 1792 (from census data) in possibly the Masbrough area, again from census data (1861 & 1871, 1851 it looks like Wiarsbro).

I have a marriage for him in 1822 in Boston, Lincs. to Elizabeth Brown, one of the witness's was George Ellis, obviously could be related. He also looks like he remarried in 1831 to Winifred Lillyman after the death of his first wife.

I cannot find a baptism for Thomas but there is a baptism for a Charlotte Ellis at Masbrough Ind. on 23/10/1791 dau of John and Alice.
John and Alice also have a Son George Ellis bapt 1786 Greasbrough & a dau Hannah also bapt in Greasbrough in 1788.

Thomas may not be the son of John and Alice, but would love to find a record for his baptism in order to be able prove/disprove the possibility. If he is the son of John and Alice I have a few more records tracing back the Ellis line further (didn't want to go too far though should he not be the son of John & Alice).

Many thanks
Kev.
