Has Someone been to Specsavers Recently
« on: Friday 15 September 17 23:47 BST (UK) »
Hi. Has someone been to specsavers recently. Can you have a look at the occupation on this Burial Register. https://explore.library.leeds.ac.uk/registers/11/482843_015.jpg
It has been transcribed as  Greensmith for fathers occupation.
The Lady is  Mary Laurie died 21 April 1879 aged 71. Her father is down as  Johnson Greensmith but after looking at the original it looks like Gunsmith. The 5th person down is Mary.
Any help welcomed.

  Carol

On the right hand page of the book-columns before the Gunsmith column

To confirm its not Greensmith-look at the E in Street & the 2 Joseph's entries:- one line above and one 2 lines below the Gunsmith word line by the same writer and compare with the Gunsmith word entry = No E's in that Gunsmith word

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Carol,, come back!

Is there a searchable index for this burial register online somewhere?  Woodhouse, Leeds is the stomping ground of a bunch of my (difficult to find) ancestors.
