Not a direct ancestor but I do have Goddards in my tree
Leigh Goddard b 1902 Sussex married Grace Scott Doig (my 2x great grandmothers cousin) father William Charles Goddard b 1867 Sussex

The Goddards did get everywhere. They owned lands in Wiltshire too.

These Goddards ended up in Wayne Michigan USA
Grace Doig was born in Dundee Angus Scotland and emigrated to America with her family
