James Ernest Harvey/ Fanny Mary Guiver - Islington, Middlesex
« on: Saturday 16 September 17 11:26 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help me find the parents of James Ernest Harvey born 1875 Islington . His marriage in Islington in 1896 states his father as James Ernest Harvey but I am unable to find James or his father in the 1881 or 1891 Census in Islington.
They had the following children:
Ernest 1897, William J, 1899, Charles Frederick 1902, James Ernest 1907, Violet 1907, Albert 1910,
Henry Thomas 1911, Leonard V. 1914.
It appears Fanny died at the birth of Leonard or as a result of in 1914.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Sincerely
Joan

I know you asked for James Ernest but there seems to be at least 2 other siblings,
Harvey/Pleasants

Alice Maud Islington 1878
Frederick Islington 1876

Also the names Harvey and MMN Pleasants feature a lot in Wangford

Louisa
I have just looked up marriage of Harvey/Pleasance. Sadly it says Harvey is James William. I can find this family in Islington but not a James Ernest as father of James Ernest about 1875

It would appear the whole family are in Railway St Islington 1881
James William 42 born Clerkenwell
Mary 43 Suffolk
William J 13
Ellen 10
Eliza 7
James 6
Frederick 4
Alice 2

all siblings  born Islington

It is quite possible the incumbent made an error, not unknown in the day

The image on Anc lists the father as a decorator  which ties in well with the family in the 1881 census that Louisa Maud posted

An earlier child is listed

It seems the surname of Pleasants or Pleasance is shown on the children's registration, so I have now found a marriage for

James William Harvey full age of Camden Cotts Mews, father William dec'd
to
Mary Ann Pleasance full age of St Pauls Road father John
witnesses John Clark and Eliza pleas??, possibly pleasants/Pleasance
