census address
« on: Saturday 16 September 17 14:10 BST (UK) »
Is there a site where I can find street names on the census records?
I'm looking for William Alexander Gordon born in Edinkillie circa 1867.
His marriage certificate states his father as William Gordon & his mother as Margaret Duncan.
It doesn't say M/S so presume he was illegitimate although certificate doesn't say.
His death cert in 1933 says his parents are William Gordon & Margaret Grant (Married)
I can't find a birth and tried under William Duncan.  If Margaret Duncan was his mother then his father was having an affair as his younger siblings mother was Margaret Grant.
1911 Census records show his name as Alexander William Gordon
William died in 1933 at 33 High Street Forres and at time of marriage was living at 38 North Road Forres and on 1911 census.  His death cert shows age as 71 which would make him born circa 1862

Sorry but I think you misunderstood.  I meant census records from 1871 onwards.  Maybe I didn't explain.
I've actually found what I wanted
