Her Majesty's Provincial Regiment in Quebec
« on: Monday 18 September 17 05:52 BST (UK) »
I have found a marriage record in Quebec that lists the groom as being a Private in Her Majesty's Provincial Regiment in 1841. Is there any way to locate information on this regiment or soldiers that were included?
Thank you for any suggestions.

I've not heard of such a regiment, but found a reference to:

"Officers of HM Provincial Regiment of Loyal Nova Scotia Volunteers"?

Needs more research! ;D

And I can't see a mention of "Provincial Regiment" on the Rootsweb page "British Regiments in Canada"?

Library and Archives in Canada has several references to 1st Provincial Regiment.

See:

Try a search with keywords "RG8 Provincial Regiment".

Were any children born in Quebec? Their baptism records might clarify things.

Thank you for your suggestion.
The children were born in Kingston & Quebec and I have located their baptisms and they have no uncovered anything.
