If the baptism includes the fathers name, as well as mothers maiden name,(even though they married at a later date), it is an 'acknowledgement', 'under god' and therefore 'by law',  that he is the actual father.
This can be disputed, if the baptism register says.....'Reputed father'.  This would mean, that Ruth Watts, is the only one giving the 'evidence' of the fathers name.

Did Isaac Channer leave a Will, after his death....is Joseph named.  Is Isaac Channer named as father on Joseph's marriage cert.

There is a Will available at the Centre For Buckinghanshire Studies(CBS), for Isaac Channer, a Farmer.  Date of Will, 24 Oct 1832.  Probate - 30 Oct 1841.  This maybe available online, but can be applied for from the CBS, for £5, plus postage.(£2).

hi
yes i have done all that
i don`t think the children were christened

Joseph watts Channer
at the moment i have  a possible marriage in Newcastle upon Tyne
for a Joseph   Channer and Elizabeth more 1813
all the entry says is both of this parish  ( i was told this over the phone )

we find out from census Elizabeth is from Manchester / kent
was Joseph watts channer  up north  if so why ?

the Joseph Channer 1819/21-1863 ran a pub  black horse in Leighton buzzard
his wife Esther came from  Manchester 1818 died 1896 in Leighton buzzard

henry channer 1813 seemed to be in the courts and sent to Tasmania
