Richard Chambers (Circa 1791 - 1845), Sudbury
« on: Monday 18 September 17 21:40 BST (UK) »
The above gentleman appears to have been the brother of my ggg-grandfather. He is stated to have died in Sudbury around the end of April , 1845. I can find his record in the 1841, his profession being listed as ' Master ............' .(I'd be grateful if anyone can decipher this) . If anyone can find anything else about him, I'd be very grateful indeed. The parents of my ggg-grandfather have been a brick wall for over 60 years, and this is the very first lead on them.

Although if he really wasn't born in county it won't be!

A newspaper report says he was a colour sergeant of the 69th regiment.
He served under the Duke of Wellington and his Waterloo medal was considered his greatest ornament. On his death bed he directed it should never leave the family, he also wanted to be buried in his regimentals.
