Thank you very much. I'd started to go down the 'Wakefield + Susan' family line, but the 'not born in county' stopped me. Just now, typing 'Richard Chambers' and 'Sudbury' into Google (on the 4th page) gave me a brief, but vital, clue - he was born in Dublin, and became a drummer in the 69th Lincolnshire (?) regiment. I must admit I hadn't expected that in the least.
(The history quotes the newspaper article. My wife's French, so that went down well !)

Hi again, unless their were rwo Richard/Susan/Susannah's in Sudbury c 1841, then on baptisms Richard had various trades?

Elizabeth Caroline 27th April 1828 Sudbury, Father Richard occ Coach Painter Mother Susannah

Ann Fitzroy 29th April 1832 his occupation Labourer

Catherine 14th February 1830 his occupation Weaver

Marianne Eliza 8th May 1842 occ Weaver
Possibly birth registration Sudbury mmn Mortlock?

Susannah Mortlock married William Wilson in Sudbury in 1816 "Williamson" maybe?
