PULLEN / PULLAN - Northants to Brighton. Anyone researching ?
« on: Tuesday 19 September 17 22:24 BST (UK) »
Trying to prove a link and hoping someone might help please.

Gladys Maud RIMES was born in Conwy in North Wales in 1897. Parents were Walter RIMES b Warmington Northants and Jane Ellen ROBERTS b Caerns. Sadly Jane died in 1919 so Walter took son Robert Edgar and daughter Gladys Maud back to his home village of Warmington.

Father and son moved via Birmingham back to North Wales but daughter disappears.

There is a marriage in 2Q1920 in Oundle of Rowland PULLEN and Gladys Maud RIMES, which could very convincingly be "my" Gladys Maud, but RIMES was a very common family name in that neck of the woods.

There are deaths recorded in Brighton of Gladys Maud PULLAN Sep 1967 and Rowland PULLAN in Dec 1968. I just wonder if Gladys Maud PULLAN was my great Aunt.

Anyone researching ?

Please PM if you are interested.

Thanks

If you check freebmd - there is no other birth registration for a Gladys Maud Rimes apart from the 1897 birth.  The next is a Gladys M Rimes b 1914 Peterborough

Have you looked for her on the 1939 register under Pullen/Pullan?

Freebmd shows a child born Oundle 1921 and another b Battle 1928 which links them to Sussex - surname Pullan

The child born Oundle married in Sussex

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
