John Simpson McLEAN - Death ?

Hello All,

I can not find a death for this person.
He was born in Dunedin, NZ in 1880, and married Ida Florence Elizabeth James there.
They moved to Victoria, Australia, and some of their children died there as youngsters.
Ida died 2 January 1935 in New South Wales but no mention of husband in death notice.
Any clues would be most welcome.

John and Ida at 215 Doncaster Ave, Kensington - John's occupation listed as 'carter'. 
Also at this address:
Marjorie Simpson McLean, cashier (note change of middle name)
William Simpson McLean, labourer - not listed in 1934

No more indexed until 1958 and 1963 when there is a John Murray Simpson McLean, driver at 45 Boundary St, Darlinghurst - no-one else of that surname at this address

This may be him declared bankrupt in NSW in 1923

"Lidcombe" as under the heading for Mother's given name .... I know this would be saying his death occurred in the suburb of Lidcombe.    At Lidcombe .... the Lidcombe State Hospital catered for Old and Infirm Men, so perhaps he was a resident there.   The official transcription of the death registration should provide that info, as it is an official transcription of the actual registration even if it does not have his parents names on the record.   Then, if more research is needed it is a matter of seeking access to the Archives records for that patient.

Could that be father in 1952 and son in 1979 I wonder.   Concord .... Concord Repat Hospital aged 71 so poss WWII service ?
