JM

Yes, I'm thinking so. Ida's death notice mentions son John, 2nd column:

Thank you for so many helpful replies.

This family was very fond of the names "Murray" and/or "Simpson" being used as a second or third christian name.
For that reason I am happy that MacLean, John Murray S who died in 1952 is the man I am looking for. And Yes, that is his son with the same name that died in 1979 and is buried at Rookwood.
I have not been able to find a death/funeral notice either under MacLean or McLean but am not worrying about that at the moment.

They did move address a lot - this is probably a sign of a lack of money.

I will now try to track down his daughter Marjorie and see where she ended up.

I do have a question of Cando? Where did you find that he did not leave a will? (Reply #4)

Again
Thank you

Thank you Sparrett and Jamjar,

I have found the death notice for Keith - which mentions a daughter - I was starting to think there were no descendants of John Simpson McLean.
Thank you too to Westward - no matter how much or how little I put into the search form the answer is always "No records found". I am looking in NSW State Archives and Records - that surely must be the right place.

Again, thank you all for your help.
Regards
Jean
