Christening Records
« on: Thursday 21 September 17 16:43 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a Christening record for Eric Handley born Oct 1914 .His closest siblings were Christened at St Stephens in Newtown. Birmingham. I can't find any record of his or his brother Percy born 1909 either. They were Church of England faith.
Some of the siblings e.g Leah Norah are on there,so maybe they were Christened elsewhere?I have seen her records on Ancestry.
The Church was demolished after the 2nd WW.It's parish combined with St Mary's at Aston Brook but that has been demolished too.
any help would be gratefully received..

Thanks I thought I had put it on correctly this time!!! I am hopeless with computers.
Parents of Percy Handley were Martha Handley (prev Watts) and Eric was illegitimate I think, Martha Handley and Dad possibly William Frederick Handley.I am trying to find if he was Christened and if so does it name this man as Dad?

Are these birth records rather than christening?
Eric's birth cert says Dad was William Frederick Handley I want to see if this is the same on Christening details. Or was he not christened as he was illegitimate?

They are from the GRO birth registration index.  If his birth certificate states his father was William Frederick Handley then it is likely any christening record would too.  Why do you think he was illegitimate  :-\
