Does anyone know anything about The Mudhull its supposed to be an asylum according to Census Thanks

Are you able to give a census reference for it

Cant see a number but the lady I was looking for is Loisa Wilkins born 1838 Pembrokeshire with a child Christopher Wilkins 1863 its on 1871 census She is said to be Wife of the Keeper of Lunatic Asylum

Looking at later census years I think the husband is Evan Wilkins b 1841 Llantwitt Major and in 1871 was an attendant at Glamorgan County Lunatic Asylum  He wasn't living with the family in 1871   https://hchroniclesblog.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/bridgend-asylums-south-wales/

Brilliant Kay She was married to Evan so the Asylum was in Bridgend and they lived at Mudhill Thanks so much

For information the reference number was RG10  /Piece 5417  folio 21 page 36  ;)

He wasn't living with the family in 1871   

Maybe he was on a night shift and just not there on the night of census  ;D

Looking at some of the originals,I don't think the property is called Mudhill as transcribed,but possibly New Mill,or later,The Mill Lay.There is a Mill Lay Lane in Llantwit Major.
