Final Resting Place for M Entwistle
« on: Sunday 24 September 17 08:38 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone, I found a possible death record for a relative recently;

Margaret Ann Entwistle nee Smith born in Oldham aprox 1885. She married James Entwistle on 2nd Nov 1909 in Oldham (from his army record). James died in 1919 and was buried with his parents at Chadderton Cemetery.

Margaret appears on the electors roll for a while (1924-1939) at 8 Court 7 Henshaw Street, Oldham.

Is it possible to get a more exact date of death or for anyone to find a possible gravesite online?

Many thanks, Luke

The record I found say she may have died in the second quarter of 1963 in Oldham aged 79.

Various options for finding an exact date of death;  the obvious is a copy of the death certificate, or looking for a Will or a newspaper announcement.

Have you checked that she did not re-marry?

To look for a Will:

With a broad Owdham accent, the name might have been mis heard  ;)

Hi, I cant find her on the 1939 Census but the residents on the electors role the address are as follows;

8 Court 7 Henshaw Street, Oldham
Margaret Entwistle
Fred Henthorne
Elizabeth Alice Henthorne

Thanks for your time,

the Owdham accent has proved to be an issue in the past.

Thanks, Luke

By the time the 1939 register was compiled Fred and Elizabeth Henthorn, with Margaret have moved to 139 Lord Street, Oldham.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
