Looking for birth or Baptism for William BIDDER c1775 Braunton area

Hi people,

Asking this for a friend she is looking for the birth or baptism record for a William BIDDER who married Sarah CORY in Braunton, Devon 1808 and he died in Braunton in 1836.

She has all of his children etc but has not been able to find a any record of his birth. I have tried to no avail.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Burial for William gives age as 51 (born c1785)

The only baptism I can see is one in 1785 at Kingsteignton, modern road mapping puts this 71 miles from Braunton. Back then from A to B was around 46 miles.

William  bapt. 16 May 1785 son of Peter & Ann Bidder at Kingsteignton

Looks like William was apprenticed in 1793  to master MR BENNETT of the estate TOWN MILLS and then I can't see anything for him in Kingsteignton.

Might be worth looking into
