« on: Sunday 24 September 17 18:26 BST (UK) »
I have a picture of a soldier from ww1 that I am led to believe is my great grandfather.
I have searched for records but can’t find anything, can you help please?

Frederick Stanley Reeves born  13th July 1890. He served in a Scottish regiment.

He was married to Emily Amelia, they married 1909.
His parents are Frederick John and Agnes Lydia

I am not sure, because I am looking for a Scottish regiment I wouldn’t have thought the mention of Middlesex would have anything to do with it?????

There was an event on Paignton Green during the summer and I got chatting to a soldier because he was wearing a khaki kilt and tam-o-shanter with a little blue pom-pom on it.  Turned out he was a member of the London Scottish Regiment.
Therefore can't see why you might not have Scots in the London regiment and Londoners in Scottish regiments.
BORCHARDT in Poland/Germany, BOSKOWITZ in Czechoslovakia, Hungary + Austria, BUSS in Baden, Germany + Switzerland, FEKETE in Hungary + Austria, GOTTHILF in Hammerstein + Berlin, GUBLER, GYSI, LABHARDT & RYCHNER in Switzerland, KONIG & KRONER in Germany, PLACZEK, WUNSCH & SILBERBERG in Poland.

Also: ROWSE in Brixham, Tenby, Hull & Ramsgate. Strongman, in Falmouth. Champion. Coke. Eame/s. Gibbons. Passmore. Pulsever. Sparkes in Brixham & Ramsgate. Toms in Cornwall. Waymoth. Wyatt.

My thought was if he was a Londoner, joined up in Middlesex & possibly changed regiments later ?
