Handwriting on 1855 D.Cert
« on: Tuesday 26 September 17 10:15 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Having trouble deciphering the handwriting on this Certificate.
Certain the father's surname is Mackintosh but can't read the rest.
Could anyone help with this?

Thanks
Jamie

I think the MN of mother is possibly McBean - the Mcs and Macs seem a bit mixed up  :-X

Thanks guys,Caroline you reckon. Had an idea the maiden name was Mcbean so that's a result.

Having no joy with tracing back this one or her husband Angus McPherson.  D 1864 further however.

What thread wld be best for tracking down army pensioners & there marriages?

There's an armed services board

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/armed-forces/

but, if they're in Scotland, you might find more if you asked on the relevant Scottish board

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/scotland/

or beginners

Any problems, just yell.
