The relaxed nature of the photo suggests annual camp, possibly summer 1914.
His Bde. at the time was in all likelihood 1/3 or 2/3 W. Riding Bde.
Can't offer anything more definite as their's no service record for him.

Wiggy has it correct.
Pre-war Territorials operated in Batteries (A, B, C etc.) which were part of a larger Brigade. These were numbered 1/1, 2/1, 3/1 etc. or in this case 1/3, 2/3 & 3/3.
The prefixes indicated if they were 1st, 2nd. or 3rd. line.
1st. line Bde's. were always called to serve first with 2nd. line called upon when required. 3rd. line stayed in the UK.
I suspect that as the 247 & 312 Bde. used the same batch of numbers & the 312 was previously the 2/3 W. Riding Bde. that the 247 were previously the 1/3 W. Riding Bde. but I have nothing to substantiate that.
Edited: Re-checked & the 247 Bde. were the old 1/3 W.Riding Bde.
