There is no other name on the 1937 death index for Alice Davidson .
This often suggests this person was unmarried.

Also, there is a Death & Funeral announcement for this woman in the Dundee Courier dated 21 Apr 1937

She died on 19 Apr 1937 at The Belmont Castle Eventide Home, Meigle
She was formerly from Newtyle and  was buried in Newtyle Churchyard on same day as publication.

No family is listed

Ah. That suggests, then, that Alice Madden or Davidson did not die in Scotland.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Anne, is there any relevant info on this story that could connect?

DAVIDSON. The Relatives of the late Alice E Davidson desire to express their grateful thanks • for the many expressions sympathy shown them their recent sad bereavement.—2 ...
Monday 17 May 1915 -  Aberdeen Evening Express

There is a corresponding death on SP for an Alice Eveline Maud, aged 40, in St Nicholas Aberdeen. Age is a little light but there the possible 1911 census entries for the children in St Nicholas Aberdeen.

The 1893 marriage of Alice and George in London has her as Alice Amelia....so...not sure  :-\  Also, on double checking this Alice Eveline does not have an additional surname on the death reg so could well have been single. Therefore, likely not connected.

At least we know Alice was still living at 1901
9 Glasgow St, Partick

George G Davidson   29 b Glasgow. Picture Dealer
Alice Davidson   29 wife b Plymouth
Dorothy Davidson   7 dau b London
George Davidson   3 son b  Glasgow

EDIT:
The death of son George W Davidson appears in various newspapers and none mention his mother.
( there is a photo of him printed in the Daily Record dated 11 Jan 1918)
George jnr died at age 20, and would not appear on any electoral rolls prior to his death.

If I have this correct, it seems Dorothy E Davidson lived in Dumbarton Road prior to her marriage but, neither parent is listed in the household.( 1919-1922)
This female disappears from the address at the same time that Dorothy Earle Davidson married.

10 Dumbarton Road was a huge multi occupancy building
There's no way to confirm occupants of individual households but other Davidsons  listed were, Madelene R, Catherine S and Annie.

Hi Everyone, thanks for all your efforts. I ended up working last night so didn't progress further. I did squeeze in a few mins this morning and found a funeral notice.
Says "funeral on Friday 24th curt at 2 o'clock from 50 Kersland Street Glasgow."
I had a look on streetview and the address is residential. I assume that this was the address of him or a family member. Is there a Kellys for Glasgow for that period
It says he died in a nursing home.
as for Alice, she was baptised Alice, the Alice Amelia appears first on her marriage cert.
Will go and visit Scotlands People tonight and see what i can find on there.
Once again thank you for all your ideas and efforts.

Don't exclude index entries with "Alice E" instead of "Alice A" as I have a few Amelias in my tree and they seem to change sometimes to Emilia/Emily!
Tannahill:  Ayrshire, Renfrewshire
Mulgrew/Milgrew:  Glasgow
